Though Amitabh Bachchan plays the pivotal role of Ashwatthama in Nag Ashwin’s dystopian blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD, the megastar hadn’t watched the complete film until Sunday. In his blog post, Big B revealed that he watched the movie in Mumbai’s IMAX theatre with his son Abhishek Bachchan and his friends.
Amitabh finished his weekly meet with fans outside his house, Jalsa, before heading to the theatre. He wrote, “A Sunday of Sundays .. the well wishers at GOJ and then to Kalki with some friends to see on big screen .. seeing film for first time .. and the experience of an IMAX, and the facilities and environ at the theatre .. so impressive , the elegance and aesthetics in the facility .. had not been out for years .. but so satisfying to be out to witness all the progress .. Gatsby .. and son fooling around .. and the IDFC bank ad., that Abhishek and I did .. so much to say .. but its getting to 5:16 am ..and Shujaat Hussain Khan on repeat .. aha ha .. one does not wish the night to end .. just the, the emotion the singing and his sitar together ..aaahh .. music .. the chord that connects us to the Almighty ..sublime .. My love.”

Abhishek Bachchan, too, had his ‘mind blown’ after watching Kalki 2898 AD with his father. The Guru actor took to X (previously Twitter) to share his reaction to the film and used a ‘mind-blown’ emoticon to describe his experience. He wrote, “#Kalki2898AD = 🤯 Wow!”

Kalki 2898 AD is turning out to be one of the biggest hits of Indian cinema. The film has already raked in Rs 555 crore worldwide within just four days of its release. The collection in India stands at an impressive Rs 302 crore. Kalki 2898 AD also stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan in the lead roles.
