The much-awaited wedding of the year is finally about to happen. Visuals from Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s varmala ceremony have made it to the internet. The bride and groom-to-be can be seen being involved in a playful activity along with their family and friends in a contest about who gets to put the varmala first. During the varmala ceremony, the song “Siya Ram” song was playing in the background.
Radhika Merchant wore a beautiful Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla lehenga for the ceremony. Meanwhile, the groom chose a beautiful red and gold sherwani by the same designer duo.
Earlier today, the first photos of the bride was shared by Rhea Kapoor on Instagram. Rhea shared a set of photos of Radhika Merchant with a detailed note about her bridal look. Explaining Radhika’s outfit, Rhea wrote, “A Fairytale Come to Life – Radhika Merchant wears Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla for her wedding ceremony to Anant Ambani. Radhika’s ensemble is Abu Sandeep’s intricate interpretation of ‘Panetar’ – the Gujarati tradition of brides wearing red and white.”
She added, “The ivory Zardozi cut-work ensemble consists of a trailing ghagra layered with a second detachable trail, a 5 meter head veil and a tissue shoulder dupatta. The ghagra glitters with three borders of red, Its workmanship is the finest amalgamation of Naqshi, Saadi and Zardozi symmetrically hand-embroidered in intricate floral booties that are lavishly decorated with stones, sequins, tamba tikkis and a touch of red Resham. The head veil has impossibly delicate jaali and cut-work while the detachable trail is a Zardozi marvel of 80 inches. The outfit is complete with a fully embroidered red shoulder dupatta that uplifts the silhouette with its maximal drama.”
Radhika Merchant and Anant Ambani are all set to tie the knot later today. The Ambanis will host an Ashirwad ceremony followed by a grand wedding reception for the newlyweds on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
The wedding is attended by several personalities from across the globe including Kim and Khloe Kardashian, John Cena, Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas, Rajinikanth, Mahesh Babu, Yash, Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Deepika Padukone, among others.
