For those simping over and rooting for Benedict Bridgerton for over four years now, their patience has finally paid off. Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson, the charming and enigmatic second son of the family, will take center stage in the upcoming season, reveals the new trailer for Bridgerton season four. The trailer which dropped on Wednesday, gives fans a peek into a new season filled with intrigue, romance, and the signature Bridgerton flair as one gears up to delve into Benedict’s quest for love. After three seasons of playing the supporting role, Benedict is finally stepping into the limelight ready to get married and steal the spotlight.

Barely a month after Penelope and Colin’s happily ever after in season 3, Bridgerton is already turning the page to its next love story, with the spotlight now on Benedict.  Netflix unveiled the exciting news with video clip which ends with a playful twist as Luke, dressed casually with a script in hand, opens his hotel room door. “I hear we’re fitting you for a suit,” a voice teases. “It’s for the masquerade ball.” A mischievous grin spreads across Luke’s face.

Luke reprises his role as the bohemian, pansexual artist, who has so far resisted the temptation of matrimony. But all that is about to change. A mysterious Lady in Silver, encountered at a glittering masquerade, will ignite a passion within Benedict that he never knew existed. Netflix’s welcomed Luke’s character in a grand style, with a caption, “Welcome to the marriage mart Mr Bridgerton. Benedict’s story is coming next season,” hinting that Benedict is all set to exchange vows.

“It has been brought to this author’s attention that perhaps it is time to unmask the newest suitor of the marriage mart… Benedict Bridgerton’s story is coming next season,” read a caption written along with the trailer.

“I knew that people out there had a feeling Benedict might be queer,” Brownell said. “And personally, it made sense to me. He’s not just open minded, it’s that he seems like the type of person who wouldn’t be as concerned with gender — someone who might be more fluid and pansexual. He’s really attracted to someone’s spirit. And so it felt like we should make sense of those pieces that were in Seasons 1 and 2. That was what we were attempting to do with his storyline,” Jess Brown told Variety when asked about the fate of Benedict’s character.

Festive offer

While all threes seasons of Bridgerton are streaming  on Netflix, the streamer is yet to announce the release date of the new season which will comprise of eight episodes.
