The Marvel movie is maintaining a comfortable pace, and is likely to pass the Rs 100 crore mark in its second weekend. It has already overtaken the likes of Chandu Champion, Srikanth, and Bad Newz, and has generated nearly four times as much as the Akshay Kumar-starrer Sarfira.
The film is set to deliver one of the top opening week performances for a Hollywood release in India, surpassing last year’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, which minted Rs 83.45 cr in seven days. With almost Rs 80 cr in five days, Deadpool and Wolverine is set to break the record of Tom Cruise film by Wednesday and is likely to close its week one with collections over Rs 88 cr. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness netted Rs 101.49 cr in its first week.
Deadpool and Wolverine will remain the top choice for multiplex audiences as it enters the second weekend, despite two new Hindi film releases, Ajay Devgn-Tabu starrer Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha and Jahvi Kapoor’s Ulajh.
The film is set to have a comfortable run till August 15, when three new releases–Stree 2, Khel Khel Mein and Vedha–will take away its showcasing. The second weekend of Deadpool and Wolverine will give a better estimate of its lifetime collections.
