Sharvari, who recently tasted success with Munjya, is currently promoting her new film Vedaa, which also stars John Abraham. The actor has landed her next project with Alia Bhatt in YRF’s spy-verse and in a recent interview, Sharvari opened up about her long journey in Hindi cinema. She recalled an incident when she was an intern on the set of Bajirao Mastani and was over the moon when Deepika Padukone asked her name one day.
Sharvari recalled, in a chat with YouTuber Shubhankar Mishra, that she was working as an intern on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani and she had many different jobs through the shoot. On one of the days, during the shoot of the song “Deewani Mastani”, Sharvari was given the task of opening the door at the exact moment when Deepika’s character walks in. She recalled, “There was an entry shot where Deepika is walking straight ahead and two doors just glide open for her so I was standing by one of the doors and I was waiting for instructions on the walkie. We had to match the timing because she had to look up, the doors had to open at the exact moment. So she wanted to tell us the moment she will look up and start walking.”
Sharvari then recalled her first interaction with Deepika and shared, “She didn’t say ‘excuse me, listen to me’. She said, ‘What is you name?’ And I said, ‘My name is Sharvari.’ So she said ‘okay, Sharvari…’ and I went home and I was like ‘Deepika Padukone ne mera naam pucha (asked my name).’ It was a big deal to even be on that set with these actors.”

The Vedaa actor also recalled how she missed work just so she could sit by the monitor and watch Priyanka Chopra perform. “Priyanka had that one shot in the same song where Bajirao gives paan, she looks through the jharokha and she has this expression that she has understood what is happening here. There were so many takes that were just so brilliant. Every take was better than the other and I have not left the monitor. I knew that I would get scolded for this that I am looking at the monitor and not working but I could not move my eyes. She had no dialogue, she was just sitting and she had to look down,” she said.
In the same chat, Sharvari spoke about meeting the right people at the right time and how her association with YRF helped her bag more projects. She recalled that even though her debut film Bunty Aur Babli 2 did not work, it was because of that film that she landed Vedaa. “A lot of doors opened for me after Bunty Aur Babli 2,” she said and shared that Nikkhil Advani was looking for an actor for Vedaa and happened to discuss this with Rani Mukerji during the shoot of Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway. Because Rani had just worked with Sharvari, she recommended her name for the project.
Sharvari will next be seen in Alpha with Alia Bhatt.
