‘Akshay Kumar asked if I have a problem with him when I refused his films’, says Kangana Ranaut: ‘I said, you also have a daughter’ | Bollywood News

Kangana Ranaut, who is promoting her upcoming film Emergency, recently shared that she has rejected films with Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor in the past and even said no to Sanjay Leela Bhansali when he offered her a dance number in his film. Now, in a new interview, Kangana said that even Akshay Kumar offered her a few films but she refused to work in all of his films.

In a chat with NBT Entertainment, Kangana said that when Akshay called her for Singh Is Bliing, she refused to be a part of it and when he asked her for the reason, she said, “I said please understand you also have a daughter. We want integrity for women.” Kangana implied that she refused to star with Akshay because he wasn’t offering her any roles that felt respectable.

She recalled, “Akshay Kumar called me for Singh Is Bliing. Then he called me again for a couple of films. Then he asked ‘do you have a problem with me Kangana?’ I said ‘sir, I really don’t have a problem with you’. He asked ‘then why? I am giving you such good roles’. I said ‘please understand, you also have a daughter. We want integrity for women’.”

Kangana, in an earlier chat with Siddharth Kannan, said that she refused to star with Salman Khan in Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The role was later played by Kareena Kapoor. She shared that when he offered her Sultan a few years later, she rejected that too. “Salman offered me a role in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, I was like ‘Yeh kya role diya hai?’ (what is this role?). He then approached me for Sultan. I didn’t take that up. He was like ‘What more do I offer to you now?’” she said. She added that despite refusing many films, Salman has been kind towards her.

Festive offer

She added, “Salman is so kind. He keeps talking to me. He is even excited to watch Emergency. We have a common friend, he sent him and was like ‘you go see what film she has made’. He called me and said, ‘It’s a nice film’. I was like, ‘So you have the news, but you haven’t watched it yourself.’ This is the kind of bonding we share.”
