Sussex have been promoted to the first division of the County Championship for next season after beating Gloucestershire by an innings and seven runs at Bristol.
The home side started the third day on 140-3 in their second innings in reply to Sussex’s first innings 311 and collapsed to 195 all out.
Victory for the second division leaders confirms their return to the top flight for the first time in a decade.
