Vivek Agnihotri, who has previously made films like The Kashmir Files and The Vaccine War, recently took to X and claimed that he had fired the lead actor of his upcoming film because their manager was “arrogant.” Vivek shared this in response to a tweet by casting director Mukesh Chhabra where he spoke about the rising number of representatives of a single actor.
Mukesh’s tweet read, “The current state of the film industry: one actor, 200 casting directors, and 15,680 managers. 🙏” Vivek, in response to this tweet, shared, “I had to fire a lead actor last week because his manager was so arrogant and behaved as if he had the prerogative to be like this just because he is an employee of a ‘Huge Celeb’s’ Star Kid Talent Agency’. These middlemen have destroyed more careers than made it. Do a workshop and train these kids, @CastingChhabra.”

Vivek did not name the celebrity he fired from his film. The director had previously declared that his next film is The Delhi Files. It was implied that the film would be the third part of the trilogy after The Tashkent Files and The Kashmir Files. Vivek, in an earlier interview, had claimed that he does not like to work with Bollywood stars because he sees them as “dumb.”
Talking to Unscripted Podcast, he had said, ” am not saying it arrogantly, but rather I am telling the truth. I started feeling that the stars I work with, are not educated and have no idea about the world. I am far more intelligent than them and my worldview is definitely better than theirs. So their dumbness was pulling me down. They are so dumb that they pull you down with them.” He added, “Bollywood films are dumb because of their stars. The stars are so dumb that they make every director and writer become dumb.”
Agnihotri’s last film The Vaccine War, starring Nana Patekar, did not work at the box office.
