Actor Ananya Panday confessed that she once mistakenly ‘leaked’ her friend Suhana Khan’s phone number, but pretended that she had no idea how it happened. Suhana later found out, but Ananya recalled receiving a panicked call from her about her phone being hacked. Ananya also recalled when she revealed her own phone number at a public event, which forced her to get a new one later. In a chat with comedian Raunaq Rajani, posted on the Netflix India YouTube channel, Ananya also spoke about her schooltime relationships, being cheated on, and her toxic traits.
Recalling how she ended up leaking Suhana’s number to the world, she said, “So, I was FaceTiming her, and she wasn’t picking up, so I screenshotted the picture and put it up on Instagram, saying, ‘Missing Suhana, she’s not picking up’. And her number was right there. Then she called me and said, ‘My number got hacked’. I said, ‘Oh my God, what happened?’ I’d deleted the picture quickly, but then someone told her that I leaked it.”
Suhana is the daughter of superstar Shah Rukh Khan, and his wife, Gauri Khan. She’s been friends with Ananya since they were children. Recalling when she leaked her own number, Ananya said, “I was doing this interview, and some reporter came and asked me for my number to do journalist things and ask questions. I gave the number, but the interview had started. They put it on YouTube with my number. Then it got leaked.”
Ananya has starred in three successive projects about being a perpetually online person. Last year, she starred in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, and more recently, she starred in the Prime Video series Call Me Bae. She will next star in Vikramaditya Motwane’s CTRL, which will be released on Netflix on Friday. She plays a social media influencer in the film, which takes place entirely on computer screens.
