He said, “I had lied and come here. When I came to Mumbai, I met a gay person, he tried to do something inappropriate with me and I ran away from there. I returned home that very day on a general ticket, this was after two and half months. I told my parents about it later.”

He further narrated, “I had given an audition, it was bad. I had fumbled at least 10 times during it and still, I was selected. So I wondered how it happened. Then I thought maybe it was because of my looks, but it was all fake. I was in such a situation that I would have committed suicide because who could I go and tell? I feared being judged, so I told my mother, she started crying and asked me to return at once.”

Sharing some other anecdotes from his journey, Abhishek also recalled how he was in Class 12 when he told his father about his desire to become an actor. However, he got beaten for the same. “That time, I was crying as I told my father, one day the world will know you by my name,” added Abhishek Kumar.

Abhishek also participated in the Mr Punjab contestant and when he went for the second round, both the phones he carried got stolen. He recalled that was another time he got a beating from his dad. Later on, he laughed about how his relationship with his dad had changed for the better.
