Actor Meera Deosthale, who is currently seen on the TV show Kuch Reet Jagat Aisi Hai, took to social media on Wednesday to accuse a producer of not clearing her dues. She posted that producer Mahesh Pandey has withheld a certain amount from her for four years, after her Colors TV show Vidya ended abruptly. Recently, Meera spoke to The Times of India about the issue, and later took to social media.
Meera claimed that she is still owed Rs 3.78 lakh. She shared that the producers cleared a part of the pending dues, amounting to Rs 8 lakhs, after she approached the CINTAA in 2022. Further Meera shared that she filed an FIR against Mahesh Pandey in May 2023, but it didn’t help. Mahesh has now ghosted her and has not even paid the TDS, which was deducted from her amount, causing Meera to bear a penalty.

Mahesh Pandey responded to Meera’s claims, stating that the actor did not mention the amount of Rs 83 lakhs that was paid to her, including GST. He asked that if he had to withhold her money, why would he pay her a huge chunk and only keep back Rs 3 lakh? He said that since Vidya ended abruptly, it caused him a loss of around Rs 4 crore. Mahesh expressed disappointment over Meera going to the association, and shared that his company is undergoing continuous loss, but he would pay her as and when money comes in. Stating that he intends to clear her payment, Mahesh said that he is not asking her to reduce the amount, which many producers usually do when their show ends abruptly.
Hitting back at these comments, Meera further wrote on Instagram, “Seriously???? Mahesh Pandey productions. It’s been 4 years now. The production house produced GUPTA BROTHERS after Vidya. Shows on Doordarshan. You worked as a programming head on a leading GEC channel. The production house has been continuously in work.
Not asking for any discount but also not paying my dues for 4 years and making me beg for it is pure harassment. The TDS deducted 4 years ago is still not paid to the Government. No favor was done to me by giving me my hard-earned money. I am not the only one complaining. But I am the only one seen talking because I spoke to the media. This injustice is intolerable. PAY ME MY DUES.”
Another actor, Shaan Mishra, also claimed that his dues from the same production house have not been cleared. Meera went on to share a copy of the FIR on Instagram stories. She even wrote, “I was made to sign a NOC (no objection certificate) that was submitted to Colors TV so that the Production gets the full and final amount from the channel. It’s a provision by the network that works in the favor of us actors. But after being given 7 post-dated cheques…I was stupid to sign the NOC trusting the production house and producer on his words and face value. And look where it has gotten me. The network released his money. But he never released my money.”

In another Instagram story, she wrote, “If the so-called FnF was signed, then why during the police complaint… it was agreed by the production house that they are yet to pay my dues. Please provide the bank statements post the FIR where any amount was transferred from the productions account to my account. I HAVE MY FACTS AND PROOFS RIGHT.”
Earlier in May, actor Krishna Mukherjee had accused Shubh Shagun producer Kundan Singh of withholding her dues. Actor Ali Merchant had also exclusively told Indianexpress.com that he had contemplated suicide due to his payments not being cleared.
