Celebrities across the Indian film industries took to their social media pages to wish their fans and followers Independence Day. Extending their wishes for the 78th Independence Day of India, celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Allu Arjun, Sunny Deol, Kamal Haasan and Sunny Deol among others wished for the prosperity of the nation.
Akshay Kumar, whose latest film Khel Khel Mein released in cinemas on August 15, took to Instagram and shared a story writing, “Celebrating freedom, pride & progress. May our flag always fly high and our hearts soar with pride. salute to our freedom. Best wishes to all of you on Independence Day. Jai Hind.”
Though known for making social issue-based films in the recent past, Akshay Kumar has switched gears back to comedy with Khel Khel Mein, which also stars Taapsee Pannu. Sunny Deol and Ananya Panday shared images of kids (a boy and a girl, respectively) holding the tricolour. While Ananya accompanied the image with the rousing “Maa Tujhe Salaam” track by AR Rahman, Sunny Deol added, “Love your motherland, remember those who fought for freedom; be a good human being, be a good Indian.”

Actor Kamal Haasan, recently seen in the critically panned box office dud Indian 2, tweeted, “Today, as proud sons and daughters of our motherland, let us vow to dream bigger, work harder and achieve the destiny of this great nation. Happy Independence Day to all my fellow countrymen!”
