The makers of Akshay Kumar starrer comedy film Welcome to the Jungle on Sunday dismissed rumours that the movie has been shelved and announced that they are ready to begin their international marathon schedule from October. There were reports that the third installment of the multi-starrer franchise, Welcome, was being put on the back burner after multiple delays.
Addressing the rumours, director Ahmed Khan said in a statement, “There is no truth to these rumours. The film is on track, and we are kickstarting our next leg of the marathon schedule internationally from October for which my technical team has already left for the first recce.” The makers also shared an image of the cast and crew from the set, will sharing the latest update debunking the rumours.
Welcome to the Jungle stars Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Paresh Rawal and Arshad Warsi, among others.
According to the makers, 70 per cent of the filming of Welcome to the Jungle has already been completed. The movie also stars Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Mukesh Tiwari, Zakir Hussain, Yashpal Sharma, and Sayaji Shinde, Jackie Shroff and Aftab Shivdasani among others.
Presented by Base Industries Group, Welcome To The Jungle is produced by Firoz A Nadiadwallah. The film was initially announced to release in December 2024, clashing with Aamir Khan’s Sitare Zameen Par, but will now release next year. Incidentally, Welcome had also clashed at the box office with Aamir’s Taare Zameen Par.
