Actor Alia Bhatt revealed in a new chat with Jr NTR that the first time she ever discussed possible baby names in the presence of others was at his house. It was during this party that Jr NTR heard the name Raha for the first time, and ‘prayed’ that Alia gives birth to a girl. The warmth that Alia felt during this get-together, which happened when she was promoting her film Brahmastra in Hyderabad, was in stark contrast to the trepidation that she felt before meeting Jr NTR for the first time.
The chat between the two actors was moderated by Karan Johar. Alia is promoting her film Jigra, while Jr NTR is promoting the upcoming Devara: Part 1. During the chat, Alia admitted that she was fully prepared to be ‘severely intimidated’ by Jr NTR on her first day on the RRR set. She played a supporting role in the blockbuster film, directed by SS Rajamouli and also starring Ram Charan. But she was pleasantly surprised by Jr NTR’s personality.
She said, “Contrary to what I had imagined, he wasn’t intimidating at all. He was very helpful. He was very quiet. In fact, I was so shocked at how quiet that set was. After ‘cut’, it was pin-drop silence, and I was like, ‘Why isn’t everybody screaming and shouting?’ I was nervous, but Taarak made me very comfortable. Whenever I would fumble, he would just naturally correct me. What I love about him as an actor is that he’s so unpredictable.”

Alia then told the story of the party that she and Ranbir Kapoor attended at Jr NTR’s house in Hyderabad, when she was ‘fully pregnant’. “This love started with Taarak very graciously coming to the Brahmastra press meet in Hyderabad and he invited us to his house for dinner. We had such a warm evening, and I remember that was the first time that we discussed possible baby names in front of everybody. Ranbir and I were like, ‘If it’s a girl, it’ll be this, if it’s a boy, it’ll be this’.”
She said that the name Raha was discussed that evening. This is what Ranbir and Alia eventually gave to their daughter. Jr NTR added, “I started praying, ‘I wish it’s Raha, I wish it’s Raha’. And finally, there she is.” In the same interview, both Alia and Jr NTR said that they changed as people after the birth of their kids. Jigra will be released on October 11, while Devara will arrive in theatres on September 27.
