Alia, who was sitting next to Samantha at the event, couldn’t stop laughing as she tried singing the Telugu hit song. Alia asked Samantha if she can dedicate the song to her and sang it beautifully in front of a live audience. Watch the video here:
Actor Rana Dagubatti, who was also a part of the event, was seen having a good time with Alia and Samantha. He sat on the head rest of a sofa to see Alia singing the song and clapped excitedly when she finished. Fans were elated seeing the fun camaraderie between Alia, Samantha and Rana as they took to the video’s comments section to write sweet messages for them. Actor Vedang Raina was also at the event. One person wrote, “See Rana guys!!!” A second person wrote, “My favourite 2 cuties in One Frame 😍❤️.” Another person wrote, “Never really liked Alia before but loving the way she’s evolving now a days 👏.”
As she took to the centrestage, Alia highlighted Samantha’s remarkable ability to thrive in a male-dominated industry. Hailing her as a true hero both on and off screen, Alia said, “My dearest Samantha, you are a hero on and off-screen. I have so much admiration for your talent, for your resilience, for your strength.”
She added, “It’s not easy to be a woman in a man’s world, but you have surpassed gender. You stand tall on your two feet, and you have your talent, and your strong kicks to be an example for everyone.” Alia also revealed that Samantha took “just 6.5 seconds” to accept the invite to the event.
Alia then turned to Trivikram Srinivas, requesting a collaborative project with Samantha. “I think Samantha and I should be in a film written and directed by you,” Alia said, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Emphasising her desire for collaboration, Alia added, “They say usually actresses compete with each other… But there’s no such thing. I am so grateful that today I have a pan-India superstar here to support my film.”
Samantha reciprocated Alia’s affection, praising her dedication to her craft. “Alia, you know how much I love you. The work that you do is so important. She reminds us that we are the heroes in our stories.” Samantha also commended Alia’s bold decision to co-produce Jigra. “Alia has also co-produced this film, another reason to respect her because she is backing her own projects and taking a risk on herself.”
Alia also spoke about one of the biggest Telugu films ever, RRR, in which she played a supporting role. She shared how the magic of SS Rajamouli’s movie still continues and is a part of a daily routine at her house because of her daughter Raha. While on the stage. Alia spoke about Raha’s love for the “Naatu Naatu” song and recreated how the toddler asks her to join her as she dances on the song.
She said, “Naatu Naatu plays in my house every day. Raha, my daughter, loves Naatu Naatu. She literally goes, ‘Mumma, play Naatu Naatu.’ Then, we play the song. Then, she makes me stand against some support and then we do the step. Obviously, she doesn’t know how to do the step. But, she does this.”
Alia also revealed that Raha has seen a clip of her doing the Naatu Naatu step at an award show. “She says, ‘show mumma video doing Naatu Naatu’. So, Naatu Naatu plays in my house every day,” she added.
Alia’s next film, Jigra, is set to release on October 11. The action-packed narrative centres around a prison break. The film is directed by Vasan Bala and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Alia’s Eternal Sunshine Productions.
