Actor Amitabh Bachchan was born in the year 1942 to the illustrious poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. He went on to honour the family name by establishing himself as one of the greatest movie stars that the country has ever seen. His father predicted that Amitabh was cut out for great things, and actually believed that he was a reincarnation of his own grandfather, Pratap Narayan Shrivastav.

Special guest Aamir Khan will reveal this piece of trivia in an upcoming episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati, hosted by Amitabh. In a promo, Aamir asks Amitabh if he remembers the time of his birth, and said that his father had written about Amitabh’s birth in detail. He proceeded to read Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s recollections about Amitabh’s birth, and said, “When Teji woke me up and said that she is having labour pains, it was an auspicious timing. I had a vivid dream and I was so amazed by it that I couldn’t stop myself from sharing it with Teji. In my half-asleep state, I told her, ‘Teji, you will have a boy and my father’s soul is coming in his form’.”

The audience cheered, as Amitabh welled up. Aamir will be joined on the episode by his son, actor Junaid Khan. The episode will be aired on October 11 on Sony Entertainment Television. Amitabh has been hosting KBC for two decades now. The show is largely credited for reviving his career, which had been affected by declining popularity as a leading man, and the failure of his ambitious business venture ABCL in the 1990s.

Aamir was last seen in the film Laal Singh Chaddha, which emerged as a major commercial misfire. He will next be seen in the film Sitaare Zameen Par, which is set for release in December. He will also begin the Oscars campaign for his production, Laapataa Ladies, directed by his ex-wife Kiran Rao. The comedy drama has been selected as India’s official entry for next year’s Academy Awards.
