Weeks after producer Boney Kapoor shared that he and his brother, actor Anil Kapoor, were not on talking terms as Anil was upset with Boney for not casting him in No Entry 2, Anil has reacted on the ongoing rift. Anil is currently promoting the upcoming season of Bigg Boss OTT, and during a promotional interview, when he was asked about the rift, he tried to deflect the question by saying that this was a “family matter.”
When asked if he was still upset with Boney, he told DNA, “Ghar ki baat hai, ghar mein rehne do. Use kya discuss karna (It’s a personal matter, why should we discuss it)?” When Anil was told that Boney’s statement was reported widely, he said, “Haan toh koi nahi. Aage badho (It’s okay. We should move on).” When prodded further, he said, “Dekho ghar ki baat ko kya discuss karna (Look, what is there to discuss about family matters). And, he (Boney) is never wrong.”
The rift between the two brothers started when Boney decided to not cast Anil in the No Entry sequel and did not inform him privately. No Entry 2 now stars Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor, with Anees Bazmee directing the film. Boney shared with Zoom, “Before I could tell my brother Anil about the No Entry sequel and the cast involved, he got angry as the news was already leaked. It was unfortunate that it was leaked. I know he wanted to be a part of the No Entry sequel, but there was no space. I wanted to explain why I did what I did.”
Later, in a chat with News 18 Showsha, Boney said that Anil and him weren’t talking to each other and he added, “I love him too dearly, I just can’t do anything to hurt him. This is something professional, so I have to follow the diktat of the director, who calls the shots.”
Anees also weighed in and told Siddharth Kannan, “As far as I know, the two brothers have immense love for each other. Inke beech ki jo narazgi hai woh kuch dino ki ho sakti hai (Their animosity is temporary). Mujhe lagta hai yeh dono aapas mein nipat lenge aur aapas mein baat cheet karlenge, mujhe indono se baat karne ki koi zarurat nahin hai. Inko kisi aur ki zarurat nahin hai (I feel they both should sort out their differences and I don’t need to intervene. They actually don’t need anyone).”
