Archie Vaughan, the son of former England captain Michael, has earned his first call-up to the country’s under-19 squad.
Batter Vaughan, 18, is included in a 14-man squad to play two Tests against Sri Lanka, beginning at Wormsley next week.
Vaughan joins Rocky Flintoff – the 16-year-old son of ex-England all-rounder Andrew – who is in the squad for the ongoing one-day series, which is level at 1-1.
Vaughan and Flintoff were on opposing teams last month, playing for a Young Lions Invitational XI and England Under-19s respectively.
Vaughan made 85 from 83 deliveries in the Invitational XI’s 288 all out before Flintoff’s 106 led the England side to a two-wicket win in the 50-over match.
Somerset’s Vaughan signed a two-year contract at Taunton in May, while Flintoff agreed professional terms with Lancashire in June.
Flintoff, who has been playing alongside 18-year-old brother Corey at Old Trafford, made a century for Lancashire’s 2nd XI against Warwickshire at Edgbaston in April.
