The teaser of the upcoming episode of The Invincibles Series Season 2, hosted by Arbaaz Khan, dropped on social media which features veteran actress Asha Parekh. In the video, Asha is seen reflecting on her journey in Bollywood and being a woman in the business.  The newly released teaser gives one a glimpse of her life and experiences in the film industry. During her conversation with actor Arbaaz, she humorously addressed the rumours about her supposed marriage to co-star Shammi Kapoor, jokingly stating, “Yes, we were married.”  She also recalled the moment when legendary Guru Dutt called her mother and told her that “he doesn’t think she can be a heroine”.

The actress also shared her experiences as a woman in the industry, recalling a funny incident when she arrived on set with “red eyes” after a night out. “I refused to shoot the next day,” she revealed.  The Kati Patang actor also touched on her strained relationship with actor Shatrughan Sinha, mentioning that negative comments from him had impacted their professional connection. She shared,  “It was like let’s do just like the way I want. And then he gave some statements in the press, which were very derogatory to him, not to me (sic).”

After Kaalia, Asha significantly reduced her film projects and eventually stopped acting. She transitioned to television, directing the Gujarati serial Jyoti. Through her production company, Akruti, Asha produced several popular serials, including Palash ke Phool, Baaje Payal, Kora Kagaz, and Dal Mein Kaala. In 2008, she served as a judge on the reality show Tyohaar Dhamaaka. In the teaser, she also revealed that returning to acting was an uphill task. “It (the long hiatus) did impact me,” when discussing her return to the screen.

In an earlier interview with Indianexpress.com, she opened up about her relationship with Shammi, stating that she worked in some “great” films with him. “I did my first film with Shammi Kapoor ji, he is my favourite. I was very shy to face the camera,” recalled Asha, adding, “In my first few shots with Shammi chacha, I was very nervous. He was very patient with me and guided me in every shot. He especially taught me how to lip sync and emote in the songs. It wasn’t difficult for us to act, I used to call him chacha outside the film and when we were shooting, we were professional actors. So nothing bothered us.”
