After the party number “Tauba Tauba” and the season’s sultry track “Jaanam,” the makers of Vicky Kaushal, Ammy Virk, and Tripti Dimri’s Bad Newz are back with the film’s third song, “Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam”. This track is a recreated version of the iconic song from Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, and Sonali Bendre’s film Duplicate.

For those concerned about another remix, rest assured that the Bad Newz version maintains the essence of the original. The song was originally composed by Anu Malik, with lyrics by Javed Akhtar, and sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. The music for the new version has been recreated by Lijo George and DJ Chetas. The music video features Vicky and Ammy’s characters competing for the attention of Tripti Dimri.

Vicky Kaushal shared the video on Instagram and wrote, “Mehboob vs Sanam just got real!!! #MereMehboobMereSanam SONG OUT NOW! #BadNewz in cinemas THIS FRIDAY!!!”

Though the makers have tried to keep the essence of the original track intact, fans had mixed reactions to the song. A fan addressed Bad Newz producer Karan Johar and wrote, “Ruined a classic srk song. i’m surprised kjo allowed this … atleast the other songs from the movie are originals and not bad at all! but why touch a beautiful memorable melody.” Another fan thanked the makers for keeping Udit Narayan’s voice intact. He wrote, “Thanks for keeping udit ji’s vocals intact.” Another fan wrote, “I cant to wait to watch this movie on the big screen to see vicky on lager then like screen. Sorry Katrina 😝the whole nation is crushing on you husband right now 😜💕.” One more fan wrote, “Can’t imagine this song without SRK Juhi Sonali grooving in it, sorry. Too struck in the 90s.”

Bad Newz is the spiritual sequel to the 2019 hit Good Newwz, which featured Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh, Akshay Kumar, and Kiara Advani. It will release on July 19.
