Australian batter Cameron Bancroft has signed a new one-year contract to stay at Gloucestershire until the end of the 2025 season.

Bancroft re-joined the club for his third spell at the start of this campaign, having played for the county in 2016 and 2017.

The 31-year-old has scored 745 runs in eight County Championship matches so far during 2024 and was also the club’s highest run-scorer in the T20 Blast group stage, with 399.

Bancroft said it was a “no brainer” to extend his deal.

“There’s been a lot of great positives so far this season, the group have been building nicely and that’s something I really want to contribute to moving forward,” he said., external

The right-hander has made 10 Test match appearances for Australia during his career, scoring 446 runs, and also played in two Ashes series.

He will be available to play across all formats again for Gloucestershire next year.

“His impact this year has been immense and not only does he bring composure, quality and runs at the top of the order, he also brings a spirituality to the group which is something I am very fond of,” head coach Mark Alleyne said.
