Patrick Brammall is set to lead a series adaptation of the Ryan David Jahn novel “The Dispatcher” at Apple TV+.

Apple has given the series a six-episode order. It will be set in Australia.

The official description for the series states, “Police detective Ian Hunt’s (Brammall) life fell apart ten years ago when his young daughter Maggie disappeared without a trace. Now working as a police dispatcher, the only thing that has kept him going is his implacable refusal to accept that she might be gone forever. When he receives a distress call from a young girl he is certain is Maggie, he will stop at nothing to find her and reunite his broken family, whatever the cost.”

Kris Mrksa serves as the writer and executive producer on the series. Jamie Laurenson and Hakan Kousetta of 60Forty Films also executive produce along with Joanna Werner at Werner Film Productions.

Brammall is perhaps best known for his work on the Australian series “Colin From Accounts.” Brammall co-created the series with his wife, Harriet Dyer, with both of them also starring in and executive producing the show. The show met with strong critical acclaim upon its release in 2022, with the second season debuting in Australia in 2024. The first season is currently streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S. with the second season due to become available later this year. The show recently won two Gotham Awards — breakthrough comedy series and outstanding performance in a comedy series for Dyer.

Brammall’s other credits include “A Moody Christmas,” “Glitch,” and “Evil.” He also voices Uncle Rad on the megahit kids show “Bluey.”

He is repped by Atlas Artists, UTA, Sloane Offer, and RGM Artists in Australia.
