Congress leader Szarita Laitphlang took to X (formerly Twitter) to call on Shah Rukh Khan to visit his ailing former teacher, Eric D’Souza, informing the actor about his deteriorating health. Szarita urged SRK to make the trip to Goa, describing Eric’s condition as ‘really deteriorating’ in a video message, where she referred to Eric as Shah Rukh’s mentor.
“Kindly spare a few minutes to come and visit him. Mumbai is not very far from Goa. It is just an hour’s flight… his health is really deteriorating, and he can’t speak anymore,” she pleaded in the clip. Alongside the video, Szarita tweeted, “This feels like my final plea, my last attempt to reach out to @iamsrk to humbly request his presence by the side of brother Eric S D’Souza.”

The politican continued, “Each day, brother’s health weakens, his condition worsening with every passing moment. Mumbai, just an hour away by flight, holds the possibility of bringing solace to his ailing heart. DASU has left an indelible mark on all of our lives, shaping us into who we are today through his unwavering commitment to instilling values. Your visit would mean the world to him, a beacon of hope in his darkest hours.”
In another tweet, Szarita Laitphlang shared a nostalgic clip of Eric D’Souza and Shah Rukh Khan from an old episode of the TV show Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai, showing the two sharing a heartfelt hug.

Szarita added that she tried reaching out to SRK via his manager but in vain.
