Hours after actor Govinda was rushed to a Mumbai hospital after he accidentally shot himself in the leg with his licensed revolver, several celebrities, including director David Dhawan and Krushna Abhishek’s wife, Kashmera Shah, paid him a visit. Videos and photos of the director and Kashmera have surfaced online. Both of them had widely-publicised fallouts with the actor previously.

In a video, David Dhawan, who made over a dozen films with Govinda in the ’90s, was spotted outside the CritiCare Asia hospital in Mumbai, where the actor is admitted. The veteran director was seen waving at the paparazzi as he left the venue. Similarly, a video of Kashmera Shah rushing to the hospital has also surfaced online. In the video, the actor could be seen walking past the media stationed outside.

Apart from David Dhawan and Kashmera, veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, Govinda’s daughter Tina Ahuja, producer Jackky Bhagnani, and comedian Suresh Lehri also visited the actor. Shatrughan Sinha spoke to the media outside, and downplayed conspiracy theories around his injury. “He is stable, his condition is good… it was an accident. There are no ifs and buts in accidents. He received treatment,” he said.

David Dhawan and Govinda had a stellar partnership in the 1980s and 90s. Together, they worked on 18 films, most of which were commercial hits at the box office. These include Raja Babu, Swarg, and Coolie No 1. However, the two stopped collaborating after their 2009 film Do Knot Disturb. Rumours of the duo hitting a rough patch started doing the rounds in 2014. In a recent interview, Govinda’s wife, Sunita, attributed their fallout to David offering him supporting roles instead of leads.

Later, in a conversation with India TV, Govinda revealed, “When my secretary was in conversation with him, I had changed a little as I left politics. I had asked my secretary to keep the phone on speaker while talking to him, and that’s when I heard, ‘ChiChi has started questioning way too much. I don’t want to work with him anymore. Ask him to do any small role that he gets’.”

After almost nine years, the duo surprised their fans by sharing a photo together from a Diwali party. Sharing the photo on his Instagram handle, Govinda wrote, “80s aur 90s mein meri do biwiyaan thi. Ek Sunita aur ek David!” Later, in an interview with Times of India, Govinda revealed their patch-up had already happened and this was their second meeting.

Similarly, Govinda and his nephew Krushna Abhishek had a fallout in 2016 after the actor went on Kapil Sharma’s show and avoided Krushna’s show, Comedy Nights Live. However, they appeared to patch up at Krushna’s sister Arti Singh’s wedding when the actor attended the event and blessed the couple. But Sunita said that she doesn’t forgive and forget.

The actor is said to be discharged soon.
