Deadpool and Wolverine Box Office Collection Day 11: The Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-starrer Deadpool and Wolverine saw an expected fall in daily collections after its second weekend of release, where it performed exceedingly well and comfortably crossed the Rs 100 cr mark at the India box office. On its second Monday, the Marvel superhero film earned Rs 2.25 cr, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
The second Monday hold of Deadpool and Wolverine was bigger than the opening of last week’s disaster releases, Auron Mein Kaha Dum Tha (Rs 1.85) and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Ulajh. It was also almost in the same range as the opening day collections of Akshay Kumar’s flop Sarfira, which minted Rs 2.5 cr upon its release.
Globally, the film has grossed over Rs 7,000 cr, while in India, it has minted Rs 111.65 cr, and is already the highest Hollywood grosser of the year, beating Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (Rs 106 cr). Deadpool and Wolverine will now have an empty run at the box office for the next nine days, where it would hope to do its maximum business and climb up the ranks of the top Hollywood earners of all time in India.
The film is currently at the 10th position on the all-time list. After overtaking Fast X’s Rs 108 cr this Sunday, the film would hope to surpass the collections of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’s Rs 119.53 crore lifetime collections by the end of the week. Deadpool and Wolverine will then aim to finish its India run above Oppenheimer (Rs 128.46 cr) and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (Rs 130 cr).
Deadpool and Wolverine faced competition in the form of the holdover release Bad Newz. But the Vicky Kaushal-Triptii Dimri comedy drama suffered due to the Hollywood biggie, while the next two Bollywood releases also tanked. On August 15, Deadpool and Wolverine’s showcasing will be majorly hit as it will face three new releases– Stree 2, Khel Khel Mein, and Vedaa.
