Ahead of his debut appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, Diljit Dosanjh has offered a behind-the-scenes glimpse from the talk show. In a short video shared on Instagram, the versatile actor-singer takes viewers backstage, where he is seen preparing with his team. The video begins with a close-up of a door adorned with Diljit’s name. It then transitions to a shot of the room’s interior, capturing Diljit engaged in discussions with his team. He looks at the camera and quips, “Hanji, Punjabi aa gaye oye (Punjabis are here),” a line that became iconic during his historic Coachella performance last year.
Captioning the Reel, Diljit wrote, “PANJABI AA GAYE OYE. @fallontonight @jimmyfallon @nbc. Goreya Da Gharan Ch Aj PANJABI Suni Jani An (Punjabi will be heard in the homes of the whites tonight) (smile and namaste emojis).”
Another video from backstage was shared by The Tonight Show’s official handle. In this clip, Diljit is seen exchanging gloves with Jimmy Fallon. Diljit, dressed in traditional Punjabi attire including a matching turban and a pleated fan, carries a black glove which he swaps with Fallon’s custom-made glove adorned with the show’s logo.
