Though he has starred in several controversial films and gained fame as the “serial kisser,” actor Emraan Hashmi feels that he has made only one regretful film choice over the years. Hashmi’s main issue with this particular movie’s that its script appeared brilliant, but the final product turned out to be the opposite. He mentioned that even the trailer made him feel sick.

“I did a film way back. I wouldn’t want to take the name because a lot of creative people were involved in it. It was a film made with the best of intentions. It had a great script. However, it turned out to be this god-awful film! I couldn’t even see it because the trailer itself was so cringe. It definitely wasn’t what I had signed up for,” he told News18 during a recent chat.

At the same time, the actor isn’t ashamed to admit that he feels envious of his peers who have successful careers, delivering hits one after another. He further added, “There’s always a battle in my head that a certain actor might have gotten a role but I deserved it. I know that I could’ve done a better job at it because it’s a s**t job that he did. There’s always this feeling. There’s this narcissistic side to you where you feel that you could’ve done something better than others.”

Hashmi made his acting debut in Footpath (2003), bankrolled by his uncles Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt. He gained widespread attention with his sophomore film, the erotic thriller Murder (2004), and continued to build his reputation with movies like Zeher, Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Aksar, Gangster: A Love Story, Jannat, Raaz: The Mystery Continues, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai and The Dirty Picture. He was last seen in the historical biographical film Ae Watan Mere Watan, where he had a cameo role.
