Hollywood star George Clooney is in no mood to hold back punches. The actor has reacted to an apparent interview of filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, where the revered director had seemingly not counted Clooney as a movie star.
In an interview with GQ, George Clooney addressed Quentin Tarantino’s comments and revealed he is “irritated” by the latter for his remarks. “Quentin said some sh*t about me recently, so I’m a little irritated by him,” the 63-year-old actor began, as he quoted an interview of Tarantino, with whom he had worked in the 1996 crime drama-horror From Dusk Till Dawn.
“He did some interview where he was naming movie stars, and he was talking about [Pitt] and somebody else, and then this (interviewer) goes, ‘Well, what about George?’ He (Tarantino) goes, ‘He’s not a movie star.’ And then he literally said something like, ‘Name me a movie since the millennium.’ And I was like, ‘Since the millennium?’ That’s kind of my whole f***ing career.”
Clooney was giving the interview with his Wolfs co-star Brad Pitt, who laughed at his statement, even as the former continued, “So now I’m like, all right, dude, f**k off. I don’t mind giving him s**t. He gave me s**t.”
George Clooney then added that he is fortunate that he got to work with “these great directors,” as a director and screenplay is what keeps an actor alive.”
The two-time Academy Award winning actor rose to global stardom in the early 2000s with the Ocean’s film series followed by popular and acclaimed titles like Michael Clayton, Up in the Air, The Descendants, The Perfect Storm and the recent hit Ticket to Paradise.
Wolfs is directed by Jon Watts and is set to have premiere out of competition at the 81st Venice International Film Festival in September.
