Gurdas Maan, who is set to kick start his US tour in October, recently opened up about his interactions with Shah Rukh Khan. Recalling his experience working with the Kal Ho Na Ho star, the veteran singer praised his manners. He also praised Sonu Nigam for his respect towards senior artistes and revealed how the singer pays homage to late singer Mohammad Rafi.
In an interview with TV9 Digital, Maan shared, “Shah Rukh Khan loves me a lot. We have worked together in Veer Zaara. The way he hugged me was exceptional. He took me to his van and we ate. And then he dropped me until my car. He has good manners. These things only make an actor a star. If you miss these qualities then nobody will ask for you.”
In the same interview, Gurdas Maan revealed how when it comes to singers, Sonu Nigam is very well-mannered and shows immense respect to his seniors in the industry. Talking about Nigam, Maan said, “Sonu Nigam often visits Mohammad Rafi’s memorial. He has so much respect and love for the artiste. Every year, on his birthday, he visits his memorial and offers flowers.”
Gurdas Maan was recently in the news after he apologised for “all that happened in the past which unintentionally hurt people’s sentiments”. In an interview with a US-based web channel, an emotional Maan said in Punjabi: “If my words have hurt anyone’s sentiments, I apologise by holding my ears and folded hands.”
In 2021, the singer courted controversy after he claimed Laddi Shah, the chief of Dera Baba Murad Shah, is a descendant of third Sikh Guru Amar Dass.
