Jasmin Bhasin shared her emotional experience of dealing with the sudden demise of her close friend and co-star Sidharth Shukla. Jasmin, who worked with Sidharth in Dil Se Dil Tak, recounted the moment she heard about his passing while travelling from Kashmir to Mumbai. The news left her numb for days, as she struggled to accept the reality of his death.
Jasmin, who burst into tears while talking to Pinkvilla, emphasised how Sidharth’s death taught her a profound life lesson about the impermanence of life and the importance of resolving conflicts with loved ones. Reflecting on her feelings of shock and disbelief, Jasmin explained how the incident made her realise that life is unpredictable and that it’s essential to sort out differences while there’s still time.
“The news came out, it was shocking. I was in Kashmir. I didn’t have internet or cellular network. I was at the airport and people were murmuring about his demise. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. But the moment I landed in Mumbai, I became numb. I was numb for many days. He was gone. I couldn’t accept the fact that he was actually gone. His death taught me the biggest lesson of life, that nothing is permanent. Toh waqt rehte sare gile shikwe door kar lene chahiye kyunki waqt ka kuch pata nahin. The person is gone but you live with the pain and regret that kash baat karliya hota,” she expressed.
Jasmin also discussed her bond with the late actor, whom she fondly called her “biggest cheerleader” on the sets of their show. “I survived that show because of him. He was my cheerleader, my supporter on the set,” she shared. Jasmin recalled feeling nervous on the set, surrounded by senior and experienced actors, and mentioned how Sidharth motivated her. “He did not go to the vanity van and was with me, motivating me during one of the scenes of Dil Se Dil Tak,” she said.
Jasmin further added, “He was my best friend on the set. We would eat together; we would go out together after the pack-up. It was a beautiful time. It was a full circle of friendship as we had our own share of misunderstandings and some incidents. But I have always respected him for the man he was, especially to women.”
The actor referring to Sidharth as a “gem of a person” and expressed how it breaks her heart to talk about him in the past tense. Jasmin asserted that she and the Bigg Boss 13 winner spent almost one and a half years together, creating many cherished memories.
