Kalki 2898 AD box office collection day 28: Despite competition from recent releases like Bad Newz, Indian 2 and Sarfira, Nag Ashwin’s dystopian sci-fi film, Kalki 2898 AD, has maintained its strong hold on the box office. On its 28th day in thetares, the film minted Rs 1.6 crore, bringing its overall domestic earnings to over Rs 622.1 crore across languages, according to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk.

Kalki 2898 AD earned approximately Rs 2 crore in India on Tuesday, which was slightly higher than the film’s Monday earnings of Rs 1.6 crore. While it’s closing in on the 640 crore mark set by Jawan, Kalki 2898 AD earned less than Jawan (Rs 2.05 crore) did on the same day of its release. With the release of highly anticipated Deadpool & Wolverine this week, it seems like Kalki 2898 AD is in the last leg of its theatrical run. The film’s ability to sustain momentum in the face of this fresh competition will be a key factor in determining its final box office tally.

Kalki 2898 AD has exceeded expectations, dominating the box office since its June 27. The film has amassed a staggering Rs 733 crore gross in India and as per the makers, the film  alone and an additional Rs 270 crore overseas, becoming the fifth biggest Indian grosser domestically and the eighth biggest Indian film internationally.

Prabhas has cemented his position as a global superstar, delivering yet another box office triumph with Kalki 2898 AD. As per the makers Vyjayanthi Movies, the sci-fi epic has surpassed the coveted Rs 1000 crore mark worldwide on its 16th day, becoming the seventh Indian film and Prabhas’ second to achieve this monumental feat.

Kalki 2898 AD, which has cameos by Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, and SS Rajamouli, among other celebs, also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in pivotal roles. The makers of the film are working on a sequel.
