Videos of Amitabh Bachchan touching Vyjayanthi Films chief C Ashwini Dutt at the grand promotional event of their film Kalki 2898 AD in Mumbai have gone viral on the internet, with many appreciating the megastar’s humility. The producer has now reacted to his gesture, and has said that he was taken by shock. Talking to X, Dutt shared a note of thanks for Bachchan, and hailed his magnanimity.
He wrote, “Nothing is higher or taller than the invincible Shri Amitabh ji… such moments from yesterday’s event are quite unexpected and shockingly puzzling. His utmost love for me must have pushed him to do what he did. I reciprocate to Shri Amitabh ji’s gesture in humility with his highest sense of magnanimity. Amitabh ji is a valorous warrior of Indian cinema beyond time and the tallest of all the rows of Himalayas.”

“Few moments in life are sacred emblems of eternal bond and such was his gesture of purity yesterday. I do, solemnly, salute to his ultimate exhibition of ethereal touch! Kudos to Shri Amitabh Bachchan ji – the legend of all centuries!,” he added.
Amitabh Bacchan took the audience by surprise by making an appearance at Kalki 2898 AD pre-release event. His gesture of touching Ashwini’s feet after ‘buying’ a symbolic first day first show ticket of Kalki 2898 AD also left the the audiences in awe. Watch video here:
On Thursday, the star had penned a heartfelt note on his blog, revealing the real reason why he chose to attend the event despite being reluctant. Bachchan revealed that his attendance was a tribute to the producers, Vyjayanthi Movies. “My presence for promotional work is one that I shy away from .. but for the sake of the most humble Production team .. and more particularly, a team that is run by daughters of the Head .. it is a justification beyond personal choices,” he wrote. Bachchan had also joked with the film’s star, Prabhas, about wanting to touch his feet as well. He said that Prabhas wouldn’t let him.
Also starring Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani, Kalki 2898 AD is directed by filmmaker Nag Ashwin. The futuristic sci-fi thriller is scheduled to be released in cinemas on June 27.
