Kangana Ranaut called Karan Johar the “flagbearer of nepotism” and “movie mafia” in her appearance on his chat show Koffee with Karan in 2017, and since then, Kangana has not shied away from taking digs at him. On the show, Kangana said that if a biopic were to be made on her life, Karan’s character would be the villain of her story. In a recent interview, however, Kangana said that circumstances have changed now, and her story would require a bigger adversary than a ‘local villain’ like Karan.

Talking on The Lallantop’s YouTube channel, Kangana said, “Karan Johar is a local villain. If my biopic is made now, there will be a bigger villain. There are bigger villains in my life now.” Kangana is now a politician and recently won the Lok Sabha elections from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. About the infamous episode of Karan Johar’s show, Kangana was asked how things unfolded after the shoot, and the actor said that Karan “knows what he has done.”

“He knows what he has done. He is very snooty, very classist and he was taken aback that I gave it back to him. Voh bhi ek waqt tha (That was also a time),” she said. Kangana was present on that episode with Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan to promote Vishal Bhardwaj’s film Rangoon. Talking about the consequences of her statements made on that episode, Kangana said that there is a “certain lightness in the industry.” “Film indutsry mein do baatein bol di, nikal gaye, kya karenge? (You say two things about the industry and you move on, who can do anything)?”
