The first episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 2 featured Vedang Raina promoting his film Jigra, alongside co-star Alia Bhatt, co-producer Karan Johar, and filmmaker Vasan Bala. Rumoured to be dating his The Archies co-star Khushi Kapoor, Vedang found himself at the centre of playful teasing from Kapil Sharma during the show.
In a light-hearted segment, Kapil asked Vedang, “Khushi hai ki aap Jigra mein Alia ke bhai ka role kar rahi hai?” (Are you ‘happy’ that you’re playing Alia’s brother in Jigra?) Karan quickly chimed in, “Khushi hai!” (He is happy!), prompting laughter from the audience. But Kapil wasn’t done, adding, “Sabse jyaada ‘Khushi’ aapko kaha milte hai?” (Where do you find the most ‘happiness’?)
Though Vedang blushed for a moment, he maintained his composure and responded in a professional manner. He replied, “Sabse zyada khushi mujhe set pe milti hai” (I find the most happiness on set). He continued, “I got this opportunity to work with Alia. I have been a big fan of hers, so just sharing the screen space with her is a huge deal for me.”
Earlier in an interview with Filmfare, Vedang reflected on his experience working with the Highway star, saying, “We have different approaches when it comes to acting, and I have learned so much from her. I was just in awe of how she approached things with so much conviction. When I shot my first scene with her, I instantly realized why she is where she is. Even when I wasn’t shooting, I would go on set and watch what she was doing.” Jigra is set to release in theatres on October 11.
