Filmmaker Karan Johar often pens interesting life lessons taught by his late father, producer Yash Johar. On his father’s 20th death anniversary, the Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani director wrote an emotional note on Instagram. In the note, he mentioned that it has been 20 years since his biggest fear came alive. He even recalled the moment he learned about Yash Johar’s malignant tumor. The filmmaker also shared some photos of him from media archives.

Karan wrote in the caption, “I can’t believe it’s been 20 years…My biggest fear was losing a parent… August 2nd,2003 my father told me he had a malignant tumor…My worst nightmare was staring at me and yet it was my duty as his child to stay positive and keep the faith…but the worst thing about instincts are that they never lie… He left us 10 months after…we lost him… but we gained every inch of his mammoth goodwill… I was so proud to be the son of the most solid, soulful, and selfless man…he put his relationships above everything else… and has left a legacy of love that my mother and I still live by…I wish he knew our children… but I do know he’s watching over them and us all the time…Love you Papa!”

Reacting to the post, Priyanka Chopra and Ayesha Shroff wrote, “The best,” Anil Kapoor commented, “loved him…great guy.” Hrithik Roshan, Janhvi Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Arjit Taneja, Sonu Sood, Manish Malhotra, Diana Penty, and others also dropped heart emojis.

On Father’s Day too, Karan shared a few adorable pictures of him with the late Yash Johar. He has written in the caption, “Forever using your love, grace, ambition, humility, and compassion to guide me in every aspect of my life, papa… especially with Yash & Roohi”

On the work front, Karan Johar has backed many films as a producer under the Dharma Productions banner. Some of his upcoming productions are, KILL, Bad Newz, Jigra, Dhadak 2, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tusli Kumari, another untitled film with Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, as well as the other two parts of Brahmastra.
