Malaika Arora attends stepfather Anil Mehta’s prayer meet; Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Kapoor pay respects | Bollywood News

A fortnight after her stepfather reportedly died by suicide, Bollywood actor and television personality Malaika Arora, along with her family, attended a prayer meet in his memory at a Gurudwara in Santacruz, Mumbai, on Monday. Several of Malaika’s close friends also attended the ceremony.

Photos and videos showing the Aroras and their loved ones at the Gurudwara have since gone viral on social media. Malaika was accompanied by her son Arhaan Khan, mother Joyce Polycarp, her sister and actor-model Amrita Arora, her husband, businessman Shakeel Ladak, and their sons. Malaika’s close friends Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sussanne Khan were also present at the prayer meet. Interestingly, Malaika’s rumoured boyfriend Arjun Kapoor was spotted at the Gurudwara, catching the attention of many online due to recent rumours of their breakup.

Malaika Arora’s stepfather, Anil Mehta, reportedly died by suicide on September 11, leaving the family and their loved ones devastated. He fell from the sixth floor of a residential building in Bandra, Mumbai. Although he was taken to Bhabha Hospital immediately after the incident, Anil was declared dead by doctors.

In the wake of his passing, Malaika had posted on social media, “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father, Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend. Our family is in deep shock by this loss, and we kindly request privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time. We appreciate your understanding, support, and respect.
