The OG Dexter is back, and he is ready to kill. Actor Michael C Hall is set to return to the Dexter universe with two new series in different capacities. He will be serving as a narrator on Dexter: Original Sin and is also set to star in Dexter: Resurrection.
Deadline reported that the announcement was made at Comic Con, where Hall was joined by actor Patrick Gibson, who plays the younger version of the former’s character in the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin. The 90s-set series will premiere in December and follows Dexter (Gibson), a student refining his ‘killer’ skills with the help and support of his adoptive father Harry.

Dexter: Resurrection is set in present day and is a follow up to the 2021 Dexter: New Blood. The show will arrive next summer. After receiving a standing ovation at Comic Con, Hall said he was having “flashbacks” of the first time he came to Comic-Con and was in the same hall. “That was … 75 years ago?” he joked.
The actor added, “It’s amazing to still be alive. I cannot wait to watch this show. To a certain degree, I have a sense of what is coming. I’ve spent so much time with this character and to go back to have those sort of imaginative blanks filled in this technicolor show … It’s amazing.”
The Showtime series followed Hall as Dexter Morgan, a forensic technician specialising in bloodstain pattern analysis, who leads a secret parallel life as a vigilante serial killer, hunting down murderers who have not been adequately punished by the justice system.
Dexter first premiered in 2006 and continues to be a popular show, steadily gaining more popularity on streaming platform. Dexter: Resurrection will begin production in January.
