Mira Rajput Kapoor, who is the wife of actor Shahid Kapoor, recently shared that she almost had a miscarriage during her first pregnancy. Mira is currently promoting her new skincare line. The entrepreneur was speaking about her first pregnancy when she was 21 years old and shared that she was just four months pregnant when the doctor asked her to be on bed rest as they believed that she could “lose her baby any minute.”
In a chat with the YouTube channel Prakhar ke Pravachan, Mira shared that when she got pregnant with her first child at 21, she was “very fit and the prime of my life in terms of having kids. “I almost miscarried when I was four months pregnant. Came back and had this sonography and the doctor tells me that lie down right now. Because I went to change, came back, the doctor is sitting there, Shahid is sitting there and they are just looking at me really weirdly. He said I need to talk to you but you can’t be sitting down, please lie down,” she recalled.
Mira said, “Because he said that I had already dilated and I was only four months pregnant. So he’s like you can lose your baby any minute so you need to go to the hospital right now and then I had to undergo a procedure and be on bed rest for three months.” Mira shared that she had to be in a hospital for three months but after a little over two and a half months, it was starting to take a toll on her mentally.
At this point, Shahid stepped in and asked the doctor to allow her to go home. “He was seeing that it was taking a toll on me mentally. So, we did this, went back home, my whole family comes to see me, surprises me. They surprised me, and I was so overwhelmed that I started getting contractions,” she recalled and said that they again had to rush back to the hospital. “The doctor told me when Misha was born, ‘please thank whoever you believe in because this is a miracle’,” she recalled.
Shahid and Mira welcomed their daughter Misha in 2016 and son Zain in 2018.
