Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s Mangal Utsav or grand wedding reception on Sunday had legends like AR Rahman and Shreya Ghoshal perform for the guests. The duo sang several of their hits including tracks from Mani Ratnam’s 2007 period drama Guru, which is arguably based on the life of Anant’s late grandfather, Dhirubai Ambani. Shreya was seen performing “Barso Re”, meanwhile, AR Rahman crooned “Tere Bina”. Now, videos of the Oscar winning music composer as well as Shreya Ghoshal from the event are being widely shared online. Netizens also appreciated Nita Ambani’s gesture as she stepped out to thank the paparazzi and also invite them for a special celebration on Monday.
“Thank you for your patience and understanding. Koi bhool ho gayi ho to… shaadi ka ghar hai maaf kar dena (if there was anything wrong, then please forgive us as it is a house where wedding is happening). Come as our guests tomorrow, you have all received the invite. We look forward to welcoming you tomorrow as our guests. Please come with your families,” Nita Ambani told the paparazzi.
Her humble gesture won hearts on social media with many appreciating Ambanis holding a special event for paparazzi and their staff. Others also said that the event was well organised with special care being taken of the paparazzi.
Meanwhile, at the Mangal Utsav, Shreya Ghoshal sang many of AR Rahman’s compositions at the post-wedding event. She was heard singing songs like “Saans” from Yash Chopra’s last film Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012) along with Mohit Chauhan. She also performed one of AR Rahman’s recent compositions “Chaka Chak” from the 2021 Aanand L Rai-directorial film, Atrangi Re. Another of Rahman’s composition “Taare Ginn” from Mukesh Chhabra’s 2020 film Dil Bechara was also performed by Shreya along with Mohit Chauhan.

AR Rahman and Shreya also collectively performed “Kehna Hi Kya” from Mani Ratnam’s 1995 film Bombay and “Chupke Se” from the filmmaker’s 2002 film Saathiya. Rahman played Piano for these performances, while Shreya crooned the songs.

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant had a grand wedding on July 12. The couple tied the knot at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai with guests from across the globe being present at the event to witness the ceremony. Several international politicians as well as celebs including Kim, Khloe Kardashian, Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas, and John Cena had arrived in Mumbai to take part in the grand event. On the night of wedding, Shreya Ghoshal performed live for Radhika Merchant’s grand entry. Several photos and videos from the star-studded event are all over the internet.
Post their wedding on July 12, the couple hosted an Aashirwad ceremony on Saturday, followed by a grand wedding reception party on Sunday.
