Amazon Prime Video’s globe-trotting espionage thriller Citadel has added new cast members for its second season. Headlined by Richard Madden and Priyanka-Chopra Jonas, the new season of the show will see fresh faces, including actors like Merle Dandridge (The Last of Us) and The Fall of the House of Usher stars Rahul Kohli and Michael Trucco.
The trio has come on board as recurring cast members. Actors Stanley Tucci, Lesley Manville and Jack Reynor will also join the team for the latest season, which will begin production this year, with Joe Russo serving as director.
Citadel and its subsequent seasons traverse the globe, evolving the story of spy agency Citadel and its powerful enemy syndicate, Manticore, a note from the streamer read.
Citadel, which premiered in 2023, featured Priyanka Chopra as an elite spy Nadia Sinh opposite Game of Thrones star Richard Madden, who starred as Mason Kane. The show is executive produced by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, and Scott Nemes for AGBO, with David Weil serving as showrunner and executive producer.
“The second season will build on the intense action and complex characters introduced in the first season, promising even more thrilling twists and intrigue,” Angela Russo-Otstot, executive producer and AGBO’s Chief Creative Officer, said in a statement. “Also, the recently announced Citadel: Diana and Citadel: Honey Bunny, from Italy and India respectively, further expand the storytelling and scope born from the world of Citadel,” the statement further read.
The Indian version of the show, titled Citadel: Honey Bunny, is helmed by filmmaker duo Raj and DK. The action series starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan will drop on Amazon Prime Video on November 7.
Apart from second season of Citadel, AGBO, Prime Video, and Priyanka Chopra-Jonas have also teamed up on the action-period film The Bluff, which completes production this summer.
