Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna are not quitting Anupamaa, confirms producer Rajan Shahi: ‘This is someone’s imagination’ | Television News

Producer Rajan Shahi is known for changing the face of Indian television to a great extent. He is also infamous for his issues with his shows’ actors. Earlier this year, Rajan made headlines after he ousted actors Shehzada Dhami and Pratiksha Honmukhe from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Now once again the producer is in the news after speculations surfaced about his hit show Anupamaa. It was rumored that actors Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna would quit the show. Now, Rajan has ended all these speculations calling them ‘false’.

The producer-director told Hindustan Times that these rumors are only a part of someone’s imagination. He said, “This is completely false. Both Gaurav and Rupali are very much part of the show and their characters are integral to the story. I don’t know where these rumours come from. They have no reason to leave the show. This is fake news and someone’s imagination. Time and again, someone or the other keeps making up these stories about the show, but there is no truth to all this. They are both still a part of Anupamaa.”

Anupamaa has been one of the leading shows on Indian television for a few years now. While Anupamaa is the second longest-running show from Rajan Shahi, it is also quite close to his heart. As for Rupali Ganguly, the show has been quite special because it gave her a stellar comeback on the small screen.

Reportedly, these speculations around Rupali and Gaurav’s exit surfaced after it was announced that the show might take a leap and introduce a new character to play the grown-up version of Anupamaa and Anuj’s daughter.
