“You think you are in shape? This guy makes you look like a crypt-keeper,” were the words Canadian-American actor Ryan Reynolds used to describe Bollywood star Ranveer Singh in a conversation with his Deadpool & Wolverine co-star Hugh Jackman. As they gear up for the release of their superhero film, which happens to be the 34th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and serves as a sequel to Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018), the two Hollywood star are busy promoting their film.
Meanwhile, Reynolds and Jackman recently sat down for a conversation with the Indian chapter of Marvel’s YouTube channel. The clips that have surfaced on the IndiaMarvel channel feature the two actors flexing their knowledge about things one wouldn’t expect them to know. Jackman, a keen cricket fan described by Reynolds as “obsessed” with the sport, was asked about his favourite Indian cricketer. Without hesitation, Jackman named Rohit Sharma. Sharma is the captain of the Indian cricket team in Test and ODI. He was also the skipper when India won the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup recently, following which he announced his retirement from T20 matches.
“You took the (T20 World) cup home and I am glad. Honestly, he was a beast,” Jackman added, evoking the response, “This is amazing,” from Reynolds. During the tournament, Rohit Sharma was the second-highest scorer with 257 runs from eight innings.
Meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds was asked which Bollywood actor he would like to work with. After a moment’s thought, he said, “I don’t even know… Ranveer Singh is amazing. He has done the voice of Deadpool (in Hindi). He is also very funny. You think you are in shape? This guy makes you look like a crypt-keeper. He is amazing,” Reynolds said, gesturing how physically fit the 83 actor is.
Helmed by Shawn Levy, Deadpool & Wolverine also features Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen in key roles. The film will hit the screens worldwide on July 26.
