An adorable video of Taimur Ali Khan playing cricket has been making the rounds online. His father, actor Saif Ali Khan, is seen accompanying him. While we see Taimur train with his coach, in one of the videos, Saif explains the illustrious cricketing history of the Pataudi family. Saif’s father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, was an Indian cricketer and a former captain of the Indian cricket team.

In a video shared by International Cricket Masters UK, Saif can be seen explaining the concept of counties to Taimur. He says, “Counties are like clubs. Like Sussex, Worcestershire. Your great grandfather played for Worcestershire. Your grandfather captained Sussex.” Watch here:

Saif seems to be in London with his son, as a different video showed the 8-year-old flexing is batting skills at the indoor nets in the Lord’s complex. Watch here:

Saif and Taimur also played some cricket themselves. Saif took to the crease, as Taimur bowled to him.

Saif Ali Khan’s family has a rich history in cricket and Bollywood. He chose to pursue a career in films like his mother, Sharmila Tagore. Saif’s father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, lovingly called Tiger Pataudi, was the captain of the Indian cricket team. He was also honoured with the CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest honour by BCCI for a former player. Saif’s paternal grandfather, Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi, was the captain of the Indian cricket team in 1946. He’s also the only Test cricketer to have played for both India and England.
