Actress Zareen Khan recently opened up about her experience working and sharing the screen space with Salman Khan in her breakthrough movies Veer (2010) and Ready (2011). Zareen shared fun anecdotes from being on set with Salman but confessed that she felt a bit intimidated by him.
Talking to comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachiya, Zareen shared, “Salman ke saath toh hamesha hi woh darr rehta hai (there is always some sort of fear one feels around Salman). More than fear, intimidation. But Salman is such a good person, he never made me feel that way. If he realised that I was intimidated by him then he would say something or do something to make me feel better. I was like a creep around him during the shoot. I remember in-between shots, in the resting period, he would sit outside his vanity with the crew and I would sit there with them too. Salman would be doing his thing and and I would keep staring at him and he would ask me, ‘kya hua? (What happened?)’ and I would say, ‘I can’t believe I am sitting opposite you. I’ve only seen you in movies and my whole family is a huge fan’.”
She then shared how before getting into movies and being discovered by Salman, she used to chase him during his bicycle rides in Mumbai’s Bandra. She shared, “When I was in college, I remember how he would ride his cycle on Carter Road (Bandra, Mumbai), and I had chased him. I am sure he doesn’t even remember because I was double or triple my size. And suddenly I am sitting opposite Salman Khan. So I would keep thinking about all that and would keep staring at him. I never thought (I’d one day work with him).”
On the work front Zareen, who was called Katrina Kaif’s lookalike when she first made her debut in movies with Salman Khan was last seen in Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele (2021).
