For someone who doesn’t sleep much, it makes sense for Shah Rukh Khan to be a coffee lover. Tata Starbucks CEO Sushant Dash has revealed that the Khar outlet of the coffee giant, located in Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies Entertainment office, was opened mainly because he is a fan of the brand. Located on the 15th Road, the Red Chillies building houses Starbucks at the ground floor, which remains a popular spot for meetings in the busy Bandra-Khar area. In an appearance on Raj Shamani’s podcast, Sushant Dash was asked about the origins of that particular outlet, and if it was indeed opened because SRK wanted it.
“He is a big fan, that’s what I have heard. He wanted a store at the building, where he had that space. It’s a beautiful store and that’s his place, he is the landlord. Someone from his office had approached, saying that he is very keen, would you guys be interested. It worked out and it is a lovely space,” he added.
Over the years, several collaborators of Shah Rukh Khan have spoken about the superstar’s coffee love– from filmmaker Aanand L Rai, who said the actor can live on tandoori chicken and coffee all his life, Tamannah Bhatia, Jawan actor Sanjeeta Bhattacharya to Alia Bhatt.

Alia, who worked with Shah Rukh in Dear Zindagi, had told Indianexpress.com a funny anecdote from the sets of the film when asked to reveal the one trait of his that she doesn’t like. “There is nothing that I hate about him. But there is something that I felt bad about. He doesn’t eat at all. Let me tell you an incident. On sets it was always very quiet. No one was allowed to speak. We used to have heavy scenes and long takes and lots of dialogues and we used to run through the whole scene.
“Suddenly in between, I could hear a growl, and I could sense that it was coming from his (SRK) stomach. Then we used to give him biscuits. He drinks a lot of coffee. I also drink coffee but I also have my food. So I used to feel bad about that and I used to tell him that he should eat,” she had said.
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing to go on floors with his next actioner, King. The film, which co-stars his actor daughter Suhana Khan, will be directed by Sujoy Ghosh. King will begin filming January 2025 and an announcement of the same will happen on his birthday, November 2.
