Shah Rukh Khan recently became the first Indian to be honoured with the Pardo alla Carriera at the 77th Locarno International Film Festival. While delivering his speech, in Switzerland, SRK enamoured his Italian fans where he received a career achievement honour, with a heartwarming speech and wit. Closely followed by the award ceremony, SRK, who presented his 2002 film Devdas at the festival, joked, “For those who don’t know me, leave, Google me and then come back.” The actor later introduced himself, by saying, “I am Shah Rukh Khan, I work in Indian film, mostly Hindi.”
Shah Rukh’s remark took social media by storm given that the actor enjoys stardom across the globe resulting in some witty comments and reactions. Now, after the actor’s joke, tech giant Google India has responded. The tech giant tagged the actor in an X (earlier known as Twitter) post and dropped a crown emoji, implying that he is ‘King Khan.’

After receiving the award, the Jawan actor began his speech by thanking the warm reception he received, even comparing Locarno to India. “Thank you all for welcoming me with such wide arms – wider than the ones I do on screen. It’s a very beautiful, very cultural, very artistic, and extremely hot city of Locarno. So many people stuffed up in a little square and so hot. It’s just like being home in India,” he said.
On Monday, the 58-year-old, during a masterclass, announced that his production company, Red Chillies Entertainment, has acquired the rights to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas. “We as a production company bought the rights of this film back, and I’m very, very proud that it belongs to our company now,” he shared before the special screening of the film.
