Shah Rukh Khan is one of the most popular celebrities in India and that makes one of the most favourite celebrities of Mumbai’s paparazzi. Recently, in a Reddit AMA, paparazzo Varinder Chawla was asked about the celebrity who was ‘on top of the rate card and hardest to spot’ and he named Shah Rukh Khan. Varinder also declared that the Mumbai paparazzi gets paid quite handsomely when Priyanka Chopra visits the country.
When asked, “Is there excitement whenever Priyanka goes back to India?” To this, Varinder replied, “Yes, whenever she comes to India, we earn good money.” Priyanka Chopra, who primarily lives in Los Angeles now, last visited India in March. Since Priyanka is an international celebrity, her paparazzi pictures are shared throughout the world.
Varinder was also asked about the “longest wait time to spot a celeb” and here, he recalled one of Shah Rukh’s birthday parties where he waited for more than 24 hours. He shared, “At Alibaug, during Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday party. We waited more then 24 hours.”
In the same Reddit AMA, the paparazzo also revealed about he gets to know about celebrity’s whereabouts. Varinder shared that while he gets tips from restaurant and hotel staff members, there are also “beggars in Mumbai” who call up his staff members with tips. He shared, “We follow the cars. We get tip from waiters of some big hotel and restaurants. And you will not believe, many beggars in Mumbai have the number of our staff who calls.”
Varinder shared that on his social media pages, posts featuring actors Janhvi Kapoor and Nora Fatehi get the most number of views. He also shared a list of his most favourite celebrities to click and named Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor. When asked about celebrities who are “nice and kind” off-camera as well, he named Ranveer, Kartik Aaryan, Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor.
