Kunal Bahl, co-founder of Snapdeal and Titan Capital, as well as the promoter of Unicommerce, has joined the panel of Shark Tank India Season 4. He replaces Deepinder Goyal, founder and CEO of Zomato, in the upcoming season. Bahl is all set to bring his vast experience as a renowned entrepreneur and investor, having built and scaled numerous technology ventures and invested in over 250 start-ups.
Kunal will team up with Shark Tank India’s esteemed panel, comprising Anupam Mittal (People Group’s Founder and CEO), Aman Gupta (boAt Lifestyle’s Co-Founder and CMO), Namita Thapar (Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited’s Executive Director), and Ritesh Agarwal (OYO’s Founder and Group CEO). Together, this powerhouse panel is all set to offer expert advice and guidance to innovative entrepreneurs who pitch their business ideas on the show, seeking funding and mentorship from the “sharks” in exchange for equity.
While the makers of the show have not made an official announcement on Bahl’s entry, Titan Capital announced his addition to the show on X. Bahl’s participation in Prime Video’s ‘Mission Start Ab’ demonstrated his ability to provide mentorship and guidance to innovators. Although the premiere date for Shark Tank India season 4 has not been revealed, fans are eagerly anticipating the new season.
Since its debut in 2021, the show has captivated audiences by featuring entrepreneurs pitching their business ideas to a group of investors who decide whether to invest in their company. As the show gears up for its fourth season, controversy has erupted with Deepinder Goyal, founder and CEO of the restaurant aggregator and food delivery company Zomato, will not be returning because Swiggy, one of Zomato’s rivals, is going to be a key sponsor of Season 4. Deepinder said that he was “kicked out” of the show because “Swiggy sponsored Shark Tank.”
“The startup culture of India is too much about showmanship. I went there (on Shark Tank India) to set a different narrative, be real and change how people perceive. I felt a moral obligation to go there. I shot for one weekend and gave my perspective. I, unfortunately, can’t go back because Swiggy sponsored Shark Tank and kicked me out, at least that’s what I heard,” he said at the ET Startup Awards, Hindustan Times reported.
