Shivangi Joshi has been in headlines ever since her photos with Kushal Tandon went viral on social media. The photos sparked dating rumours between the Barsatein-Mausam Pyaar Ka co-stars. On May 18, on the occasion of her birthday, the actress interacted with the media and addressed speculations around her personal and professional life. One of the rumours were of the actress joining hands with her Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai co-star and rumoured ex Mohsin Khan. Her statement and clarifications were later tweaked and misinterpreted, which attracted severe backlash online. Now, the television star has broken her silence.
On May 23, Shivangi took to her Instagram Stories to share a long note, slamming a group of people for ‘misconstruing’ her words.
She wrote, “I am very disappointed by a group of people for misconstruing my words and misinterpreting them. Recently, at an event, I was asked a generic question about a lot of rumours going around, to which I said, ‘That’s what rumours are for, right? They come and go.’ Unfortunately, my response was tweaked with voiceover, and the outcome was a lot of uncalled-for remarks and statements causing emotional turmoil for my family and me.”
The actress, whose photos from Thailand with Kushal Tandon went viral on social media, also addressed people’s interest in her personal life.

She added, “I’ve always kept my personal life private and refrained from talking about it in open forums. Hence, I request you to kindly respect my privacy. When the time is right, you will know. But taking advantage of someone’s generic statement and bashing them and their families is not at all human.”
“I respect everyone, and I expect the same in return. Thank you,” Shivangi concluded.
The rumours of Shivangi and Mohsin collaborating on another show after Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai began after the show’s creator Rajan Shahi mentioned the duo in one of his interviews. Later, Rajan, who is also the owner of Director Kut Productions, shared a photo of the duo on his Instagram handle.
Addressing these rumours to the media stationed outside the venue, Shivangi post her birthday celebrations said, “Yeh bahaut hi kamal ki baat hogi. Rajan sir, DKP toh mere liye matlab family jaise hai.”
Unaware of Rajan having uploaded her photo with Mohsin, Shivangi said, “Jab hoga apko pata chal jayega.”
Her statements were then tweaked with voiceovers which irked a set of people on social media, attracting trolls.
