Even as Sonakshi Sinha keeps her wedding plans with her longtime boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal under the wraps, some details about her big day have been flashing all over the internet. Sonakshi and Zaheer are reportedly set to tie the knot on June 23 in an intimate ceremony.
Here are a few details that sources close to the actor couple have shared exclusively with indianexpress.com:
Sonakshi and Zaheer to opt for a registered marriage
Contrary to reports of Sonakshi and Zaheer hosting two-day wedding festivities, we have learnt that the two are opting for a registered marriage. One of Sonakshi’s friends said they have received an invitation to celebrate with the couple on the evening of June 23, but there’s no mention of an actual wedding. “From what I know, they may have already had a registered wedding, or may do so on the morning of June 23. But there’s not going to be any elaborative wedding as such, just a party,” the friend said.
Post wedding party at Bastian?
Sonakshi and Zaheer’s wedding is going to be an intimate affair. A source close to the actress tells us that she and Zaheer will hold an event at Bastian, a celebrity favourite restaurant in Mumbai. They said, “Sonakshi is keeping it very private. She has not shared many details about the wedding. But from what we know, they will be celebrating at Bastian.”
Wedding dress code
According to sources Sonakshi might be tight-lipped about her wedding, but she is all set for her big day and she has been preparing for it from a few months now. She is expected to keep it simple and the dress code for the guests attending the wedding function is ‘festive and formal’. Earlier this year Sonakshi had shared how she imagined her wedding look when she walked the Bombay Times Fashion Week ramp in a black lehenga. She had said, “Whenever I get married, I would like to wear a classic red lehenga.”
Wedding guestlist
Sonakshi’s Dabangg co-star Salman Khan is expected to attend her wedding with Zaheer. It is said that he played cupid between the two of them. Apart from Salman and his family, her Heeramandi director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and co-stars Fardeen Khan, Taha Shah Badussha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal among others are expected to attended the wedding party.
Sonakshi recently reacted to her wedding rumours where she said that she’s going ahead as it is her “choice”. In a conversation with iDiva, Sonakshi said, “Firstly, it’s nobody’s business. Secondly, it is my choice, so I don’t know why people are so concerned about it. People ask me about my marriage more than my parents, so I find that very funny. Now, I am just used to it. It doesn’t bother me. People are curious; what can we do about it?” Zaheer has yet not spoken up about their big day. The couple has been tight-lipped about their relationship ever since they got together a few years ago.
